Trapper was found in the woods by the Burrillville ACO caught in a hunting trap. This poor cat sustained major injuries and has run up quite the veterinary bill! Being a city operated Animal Control agency, Burrillville ACO does not have the funding to care for an animal with such serious veterinary needs, because of generous support you all showed for Willie the Railroad Pup Marvin has decided to assist with his veterinary care. The Marvin Fund has pledged $1,000 for Trappers veterinary care.
Anyone interested in adopting Trapper, please feel free to contact the Burrillville ACO for an application at (401) 568-9480.

Here is an exert from Trapper's story from the Providence Journal...

"...a cat landed high up in a tree in the village of Pascoag - caught and severely injured in a type of steel trap banned in Rhode Island since 1977."

"...The cat, a short-haired black male whom animal control officers named Trapper, has been treated since he was found a week ago, and remains at the Northern Rhode Ilsand Animal Hospital in North Smithfield, Woods said Trapper is doing well after veterinarians tried to save his right rear leg, which was caught in the trap. In the end they needed to amputate the leg on Tuesday because nerve damage and lack of blood flow made it impossible to save."

The RISPCA is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever was responsible.
